From Raju and Catherine Abraham (in India)

Created by Chris 6 years ago
Jenny knew us when we were in Nazareth, and she shared a house for about a year with Catherine near Woolwich where she was a midwife. They also worked for a time at Hildenborough Hall, the conference centre in Kent.

She was a good friend to both of us and we shared a lot. She was one of Catherine’s bridesmaids at our wedding in Kent in April 1977. And we saw her often after while she was working as a radiographer and at Tear fund. We have been in North India for the last 26 years (since 1991), thus, our contact with Jenny in these last years was not much. We last saw her a few years ago when we visited her with Mary Thomas who kept us informed about her health.

We have many happy and fun memories of our times together. Her strong sense of humour was 'catching' and she was a joy to be with. We really admired her determination and zest for life. She never held back from any enterprise despite her disability, and was game for anything. Mary Thomas has a great video of a walking trip several of us did with her, from Jerusalem to Jericho though the Wadi Kilt nearly 45 years ago. We have repeatedly watched it with nostalgia in the 80’s in the UK at 'Nazareth' meetings. We had a a family holiday with her in Goa as well those many years ago.

We were always inspired by her firm faith and trust in the Lord, which held her through the years. The same enduring faith that was the heritage of your parents.

We are so very sorry we will not be able to be there for the memorial service on the 27th but our hearts and thoughts will be with you.
