A tribute from Dave Pope

Created by Chris 6 years ago

I have very fond memories of Jenny; We worked together when she was at TEAR Fund, and I had the privilege of travelling to several countries in Asia with her, way back in 1992, assessing many of the projects that TEAR Fund were supporting at that time. I shall never forget her gently lifting children with their sparse bundles of possessions from a UN train as it arrived back in Cambodia. Their families were the victims of the Pol Pot regime and this was their return to the homeland.

She was kind, warm, compassionate and considerate, and I feel privileged to have known her as a co-worker and good friend. We laughed and cried together, particularly as we enjoyed mutual friends who shared in the concerns and deep need of our fellow human beings.

Her last days were difficult in so many ways, but the last time I saw her was a real ministry to my own heart. She still had that mischievous smile and her faith was as strong as ever.

Farewell Jenny; no more discomfort now. See you in a while.
