In the early 1980s Jennie organised for a group of us to go on holiday to the Greek island of Samos. We rented a couple of rooms close to the beach. When Jennie discovered a small stray dog she brought it back to our rooms and proceeded to wash it in the bathroom sink, picking off all the fleas. It took ages and lots of soap but Jennie was determined to complete the job. We then went back down to the beach where we eventually located the mummy dog. We returned a very clean puppy dog to her mum and a litter of flea ridden brother and sister puppies.
